BKR International - Worlwide Board Meeting Hawaii

Nicosia, Cyprus – October 26, 2006 – Chris Damianou has just returned from BKR International’s Annual Worldwide Meeting, “Strengthening Global Relationships.” The meeting was held October 21-24 at The Sheraton Moana Surfrider, the first hotel built on Waikiki Beach in 1901. One hundred ten partners representing sixty-four accounting firms from the world over attended the meeting.

“BKR members are able to maintain their status as leading firms in their communities in part because of the knowledge they gain at BKR conferences and the interaction they achieve through their global relationships,” noted Maureen Schwartz, BKR Executive Director. “This year’s agenda addressed a wide variety of technical and management challenges: recruiting, training, motivating, and retaining an outstanding team, improving client service and overall practice development, and the best ways to leverage technology investments. A workshop on transfer pricing, an area of expertise gaining considerable importance as clients expand globally, was also held.”

In addition to a rigorous business agenda, members had the opportunity to network informally as well as discuss the areas of greatest concern to them. Small breakout sessions allowed them to brainstorm over specific issues that are most relevant to each firm, no matter what size or stage of development.

“We are proud to have such a strong commitment from our member firms and are pleased to present timely topics and well-known speakers who can help our firms stay ahead of the curve,” concluded Thomas Murray, Chairman of BKR International and Managing Partner of Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck & Co., P.C. in Long Island, New York. Best of all, clients benefit as well, because our members return to their local business communities armed with new insights, ideas and resources that can be directly applied to the business owner’s situation.”
